Paulo Alegria (Paulgi)

Nasceu em 1970 em Oliveira de Azeméis, mas vive e trabalha em Viana do Castelo, cidade que adoptou há largos anos, pela bonita paisagem. Formou-se em Design Gráfico na Escola Profissional de Ofícios Artísticos (EPOA), em Vila Nova de Cerveira, mas passou desassossegado por diversas áreas do conhecimento, como a Arquitectura, a Educação Visual e mesmo a Engenharia Civil. Foi NEON, um músico quase famoso, mas o primeiro português a ser convidado e a actuar no palco do Festival de Cannes. No entanto, apesar de talentoso na música, onde verdadeiramente se excedeu foi a desenhar capas de CD’s para os outros, de onde também conseguiu o seu maior reconhecimento nacional. Tem a mania de jogar no computador bebendo doses impossíveis de IceTea Green, a única bebida que tolera, e passou a fumar papaia para substituir o tabaco e não perder o conforto do fumo. As suas fotografias apareceram regularmente em revistas especializadas e em exposições individuais e colectivas, tanto em Portugal como no estrangeiro mas, apesar de algum sucesso artístico, continua solteiro. É membro da agência Young Photographers United e do FotoALT, colectivo de fotógrafos portugueses inconformistas. Adora o silêncio dos gatos e não suporta o ruído dos cães. Também por isso,  não conduz veículos motorizados e foi atropelado por uma vaca na primavera de 2006.

He was born in 1970, in Oliveira de Azeméis, but he lives and works in Viana do Castelo, a town that he adopted for a long time due to the beautiful landscape. He graduated in Graphic Design from EPOA, in Vila Nova de Cerveira, but tried restlessness other areas of knowledge like Architecture, Visual Education and even Civil Engineering. He was NEON, an almost famous musician but he was also the first Portuguese to be invited to play on the Cannes Festival stage. Nevertheless, even though he was talented, where he really excelled himself was working in CD covers layout design for other musicians and he also achieved his greatest national reputation with it. He’s addicted to computer games and Green IceTea which he absorbs in impossible quantities while playing, because it’s the only drink he tolerates. He started smoking papaya cigarettes to substitute tobacco without loosing the comfort of the smoke. His photos have appeared in specialized magazines and in individual and collective exhibitions in his home country and abroad but, even with a certain artistic success, he’s still a bachelor. He’s a member of Young Photographers United agency and FotoALT, a Portuguese group of nonconformist photographers. He loves the silence of cats and doesn’t bare barking dogs. Also because of this, he doesn’t drive motorized vehicles and a cow trampled him on the spring of 2006.

Nasceu em 1981 na cidade do Porto, embora fosse transportado logo nos primeiros dias para Viana do Castelo. É licenciado em Património Cultural pela Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais da Universidade do Algarve e concluiu a parte curricular do mestrado em História da Arte Portuguesa, na mesma instituição. Gosta de andar no mundo e observar com atenção o que se passa. Às vezes tem confiança na humanidade mas logo a seguir a perde. É um perito a recolher cotão do umbigo e consegue a proeza de o produzir não só em azul-escuro comum mas em muitas e variadíssimas cores, o que é raríssimo, segundo apontam os últimos estudos científicos. Agora meteu-se-lhe na cabeça a curiosa ideia de que tem obrigatoriamente de escrever um livro sobre uma personagem do século XVIII, que ele inventou, e que volta e meia não o deixa dormir. Ainda por cima, apaixonou-se por ela, apesar de já ser casado. Andou nas romarias desde pequeno e isso fez dele um homem íntegro e com um gosto especial por tudo o que provenha da uva e contenha álcool. O seu grupo sanguíneo é o O rh+.

Raul P.

He was born in 1981 in the city of Porto but he was moved on his first days to Viana do Castelo, a few miles north. He graduated in Cultural Heritage from the University of the Algarve and concluded the curricular module of the Portuguese Art History master on the same faculty. He likes to wander around and observes the world with attention checking how everything rolls. Sometimes he trusts humanity but he looses the feeling right afterward. He’s an expert on removing bellybutton cotton and he can harvest it in a multiplicity of colors besides the common dark-blue, which is very rare according the last scientific papers. Now, he got this curious idea that he feels obliged to write a book about a character of the 18th century that he invented and, sometimes, that person doesn’t let him sleep. Moreover, he fell in love with the character, despite being married. He frequented the Romarias since he was a child which made him an incorruptible man with a special taste for everything that comes from the grape and has alcohol. O rh+ is his blood type.
